Get some magic mushroom gummies from Budmother!

The use of magic mushrooms and psylocibin has grown more and more popular in recent years. The health and spiritual benefits are better understood, and science is validating some of the claims previously made by psychonauts like Terence Mckenna.

But in the UK, the use and cultivation of magic mushrooms is illegal. So how can I get hold of magic mushroom gummies?

Budmother has recently launched a line of magic mushroom gummies that do not contain psylocibin, but are reported to provide a psychoactive effect similar to the usual mushrooms like liberty caps.

We sourced some from Budmother to find out what they’re like.

What’s in the magic mushroom gummies from Budmother?

The Budmother website states that ‘these gummies offer a potent blend of flavours. Each gummy embodies a sweet, tangy burst of flavour, providing an enchanting experience that stimulates your taste buds and your mind.’

The website also recommend one dose as 2-4 gummies, and to give mild euphoria and calmness.

Our experience of the Budmother magic mushroom gummies

Delivery was speedy, well packaged, and discreet.

I decided to have 2 magic mushroom gummies during a party with friends whilst we sank a few beers.

I popped one gummy into my mouth and was hit by a sweet and sour sugary hit. Quite pleasant. I then waited for any kind of changes in how I felt or what I saw.

After about 30-40 minutes, I took the second gummy and then the world quickly looked more high definition and 4k. Colours were vivid and I had a sense of well-being, truth, empathy, and relaxation.

To be honest, I don’t think I realised quite how strong the affect had been on me, as I realised the day after quite how out of it I had felt. It was largely pleasant, but I couldn’t help but feel like it was a synthetic experience, akin to consumption of legal highs that had become the rage in the 2000’s.

The next day I was kind of hungover from too much beer, which may have totally upset and tainted the experience, but I wasn’t in a rush to try the gummies again.

Now that some time has passed since my experience, I probably would happily get hold of some more.

My friend’s experience was quite different however. It took longer for him to feel the effects, and some days later he described a sense of ‘darkness’ to me that the gummies had given him. He said he felt a little down, and like the world appeared physically dark – definitely not my experience, but also one that I wouldn’t want to share!

The spiritual benefits of magic mushroom gummies

Generally it was a fun trip, but the high brought on by the gummies did allow me to connect with my friends more. One of my long time friends, Larry, was having a hard time with his family and had been putting a brave face on for a long time. At one moment, I looked at him and just said:

“Larry. Really…are you OK? This all must be hard”

Despite knowing each other for a long time, we never really talk about feelings or anything like that. His self destructive actions and the way his life was going had worried me for a number of weeks, and although he kind of brushed off my question, at least I managed to say what I wanted and check he was ok.

In that moment, I think he knew I really cared.

Without the gummies, I don’t think I would have really tried to get him to open up for fear of prying or making him upset.

So what is Amanita Muscaria?

The gummies are made from extracts of the famous red mushrooms; Amanita muscaria. They’re also known as the fly agaric or fly amanita.

While generally considered poisonous, Amanita muscaria can be eaten if properly prepared to reduce its toxicity.

This typically involves parboiling the mushroom in plentiful water to leach out the harmful compounds. However, this is not commonly practiced, and the mushroom is generally not recommended for culinary use.
